Scientific Center for Optical and Electron Microscopy

Scientific Center for Optical and Electron Microscopy (ScopeM) is the central microscopy platform of the ETHZ. It provides resources and services in light and electron microscopy (and related areas) as well as direct access to state-of-the-art microscopy and sample preparation equipment.

In the field of screening ScopeM concentrates on image-based („high content“) screens by providing access to dedicated microscopes, smaller sample preparation equipment and offering expertise in the fields of image acquisition, sample preparation, and image/data processing.

In the past, ScopeM has performed a number of full-human-genome based siRNA (image-based) screens to identify proteins that play a role in various cellular processes.
